The new school year is just around the corner, and while your mind might still be on a relaxing mental break, envisioning a peaceful beach or a cozy mountain cabin, reality is quickly approaching. That means it’s time to start preparing for your students and the upcoming return to the classroom. To help you with this transition, I’ve created the End of Summer Journal Writing Reflection Packet specifically for you and your kiddos!
Begin the school year on a positive note with a combination of writing and movement. This engaging packet includes 10 fun writing and drawing prompts where students can reflect on their favorite summer memories and activities. You can take it even further by encouraging students to share their reflections in a whole group setting or with a partner.
Use one prompt each day, display it on the classroom screen as a group activity, place it in a writing center, send it home as homework, or use it as a bell ringer to kickstart your day. I really love this resource — it was a joy to create while imagining all the exciting stories my little students would be eager to share when they come back to class. Enjoy using this packet in your classroom!
