Materials: Any narrative text, paper divided into two columns
Duration: 20 minutes
Activity:
Read a story or chapter together (or use a story students have already read)
Create a two-column chart: "Character Traits" and "Evidence from Text"
Model identifying one character trait and finding text evidence
Students work independently or in small groups to identify 2-3 more traits with evidence
Share findings as a class
Assessment: Review students' charts for accuracy and text evidence
